Shared values. A note in the margins of a book by Giacomo Becattini (and Alberto Magnaghi)

In this book titled La coscienza dei luoghi, Giacomo Becattini goes back to the fundamentals of his reflection on districts. Sometimes, he makes a reclaiming that brings back events, attitudes and beliefs that have built a relevant part of the Italian economic thought from the fifties. Other times, he goes back to his true main passions: Marshall first. The book is composed by very different texts: short articles in newspapers, lectures and a long dialogue (almost half of the volume) with Alberto Magnaghi in which it is outlined a convergence between trajectories of theory and inquiry in economic and territorial fields. Here the preview:

A new realism: there is one for every season and attitude, we might say. Philosophical attitude, of course, but also literary one. It shows all shades of the “honest novel” that Goffredo Fofi has collected for the first time on Lo Straniero and then in a book.
